Closing Soon! Early Bird registration for Expanding Possibilities: Science Conquering Parkinson’s
Expanding Possibilities is shaping up to be an exciting and ground-breaking three-day event with speakers and delegates from all over the world. The early bird registration rate is only open until the 30th June so get in quick!
Expanding Possibilities: Science Conquering Parkinson’s is an excellent opportunity for world-leading scientists, leading Australian researchers, Australia’s leading health professionals, the next generation of scientists, researchers and specialists, and people with Parkinson’s to come together to share, learn and discover the cutting edge in Parkinson’s research.
Expanding Possibilities will showcase how innovative and successful Australian Parkinson’s researchers are, alongside some of the world’s leading Parkinson’s scientists.
The three-part event hosts the 12th Annual Meeting of the Genetic Epidemiology of Parkinson’s Disease Consortium, and presents the Health Professionals Symposium and Parkinson’s Queensland Forum.
The GEoPD Consortium is a gathering of world-leading Parkinson’s scientists and is an event closed to the public – however, many of these scientists, esteemed in their areas of expertise, will be joining us as guest speakers for the Health Professionals Symposium and Parkinson’s Queensland Forum.
The full day Health Professionals Symposium will enable Australia’s leading specialists, nurses, allied health professionals and leading pharmaceutical suppliers to hear from and engage with leading scientists from Australia and around the world, including members of the GEoPD.
Included in the Symposium will be the James Parkinson Bicentenary Oration, “Parkinson’s Disease – Personalised, precision medicine from 20 years of genetic insight,” which will be presented by Professor Matthew Farrer, PhD (CSO of Neurocode, Department of Medical Genetics, University of British Columbia). To have such an eminent scientist presenting in Australia is a great compliment to scientific researchers in our country and Parkinson’s Queensland is proud to have the James Parkinson Bicentenary Oration at our event.
The Parkinson’s Queensland Forum is a half day program specifically for Parkinson’s Queensland members, support groups and all people with Parkinson’s. Parkinson’s Queensland firmly believes that our members are the soul of our organisation and this presents an opportunity for them and all people with Parkinson’s to hear directly from world-leading scientists and health professionals.
We look forward to welcoming scientists, health professionals and people with Parkinson’s from around Australia, and the world, to Expanding Possibilities 2017 in sunny Cairns. As we say here at Parkinson’s Queensland, “we are all in this together.”
