Let’s get dancing! – National Seniors Week
National Seniors Week: “It’s on for young and old”
To bring Seniors Week 2016 to a close, on 21 August, Queensland Ballet, in partnership with Dance for Parkinson’s Australia, will be hosting a day of activities celebrating the accomplishments of the Dance for Parkinson’s class attendees, teachers and musicians.
Queensland Ballet is the first dance company in Australia to offer specialised classes for people affected by Parkinson’s Disease. This highly successful program helps participants re-connect with their power and grace in classes that focus on fitness, fun and creativity.
The Dance for Parkinson’s class participants will be performing movement inspired by Queensland Ballet’s triple bill, Lest We Forget.
We hope that you can join us at The Thomas Dixon Centre for an afternoon in celebration of this much loved Dance for Parkinson’s community with special guests from the New Voice Choir – a non-auditioned Brisbane choir for people with Parkinson’s and their carers/supporters.
Experience first-hand what Dance for Parkinson’s is all about. You are invited to enjoy the class as a participant or as an observer.
Mingle with a like-minded community and enjoy a light afternoon tea.
Dance for Parkinson’s and New Voice Choir Performance followed by light refreshments.
Please follow this link to RSVP by Monday 15 August.
